08:10, the lecture hall
The lining shows the level curves of a bowl and the steepest way down it, a method Cauchy proposed in 1847. Each step goes against the gradient; the steps shorten as the ground flattens and close in on x*, where the gradient is zero and a step moves nothing. Neural networks are trained this way, and finding x* is most of our work.

Fixed Point Jacket
CHF 690 working price
For the morning lecture: a low inside pocket takes the notebook, and the right pocket two chalks and a pencil.
The lecture jacket: soft flannel, a stand collar, no padding anywhere. The mathematics is in the lining, and it leads to the notebook.
A study: nothing can be ordered yet. The photograph is a generated image, not a picture of a made piece or of a real person.
- Flannel 340: wool with 10% cashmere, 340 g/m²
- Unstructured and half-lined in Chalk cupro jacquard on every colour: level curves woven tone on tone, with one line of vermilion stitching running down to x*
- x* is a low inside pocket behind the left patch pocket, cut for the A5 notebook, so its weight hangs from the hem and not from the chest; inside the right patch pocket, a slot for two chalks and a pencil
- Stand collar, four horn buttons, cuffs that roll clean; 73 cm long on a 48. Cut unisex in Italian sizes: a 42 is a women’s IT 40
- Outside: the horizon tab at the back of the neck, 40 × 5 mm, woven in the colour of the cloth. Nothing on the chest
- Cut for: Lab Notebook, Twelve and One
