Three people of different ages at a long wall of blackboards in a lecture hall, two with their backs to us and a professor in profile, the benches in the foreground in shadow.

Show your working.

A wardrobe for people who study, teach and do research, from the morning lecture to a night at the board. Each piece is drawn from one figure and carries the formula that makes it.

A study: prices are working values, nothing can be ordered yet, and the photographs are generated images.

An empty tiered lecture hall in morning light seen from the back rows: a striped jacket, a long green coat, a pale work coat, a camel overshirt and two sweaters left over the wooden benches, a suede tote and a notebook on the desks, and a jacket over a chair at the lecturer’s desk.

The figure is in the making.

We draw the figure first, from its own equations, then ask where it belongs: a lining, a weave, a pleat, the spacing of three buttons. Few shapes, serious cloth, one tone from collar to hem, and one touch of red at most. The pockets are cut for chalk, a pencil and an A5 notebook, because that is what the work is carried in.

Run 01Shapes stay. Each run changes a cloth and adds a figure.

A cabinet of instruments.

Sixteen instruments for the board, the desk, the pocket and the hours after. Most do a job; every one shows one result, in its shape or in the way it moves, and is there to be tried. The chalk box, the pencil box and the notebook carry the mark; the rest carry a number at most.

All the objects16

A study, not yet a shop.

What you see is the first run as we imagine it. Prices, cloths and sizes are working values, and no piece has been made yet: the photographs are generated images, studies for this page, not pictures of real pieces or of real people. Nothing can be ordered yet, and the bag stays on your device.

If a piece should exist, tell us which.
